Manatee County Rural Health Services, Inc. recognized the need for medical services in underserved communities, and has been committed to quality healthcare. In order to meet growing needs, MCRHS broadened the range of services offered. Medical specialties such as Internal Medicine, Dentistry, Obstetrics/Gynecology, and Pediatrics have enabled MCRHS to become a comprehensive health care provider.

MCRHS physicians continually service patients at MCRHS sites, as well as local hospitals. Additionally, each site is equipped with an after hours answering service, which allows 24 hour access to "on call" physicians. Services are offered at East Manatee, North Manatee, Parrish FHC, Southeast FHC, Arcadia FHC, Myakka FHC, North County FHC, Braden River FHC, and Palmetto FHC.

Our pediatric staff services over 27,000 patients annually. Infants, as well as children up to 18 years old are treated. Our pediatric team performs a wide range of services and medical procedures, of which include check-ups, school physicals, sports physicals, and immunizations. Services are offered at Lawton Chiles, North Manatee, Southeast FHC, Manatee Pediatrics, and North County.

Each year, dedicated MCRHS staff is responsible for delivering over 1300 newborn babies in Manatee County (over 50% of all newborns in Manatee County annually). We encourage our patients to continue health care throughout their entire pregnancy by offering quality prenatal and postpartum care. Services are offered at East Manatee, Arcadia FHC, Westgate OB/GYN, Lakewood Ranch OB/GYN, and Braden River FHC.

Our healthcare centers offer dental care to over 9,000 adults and children annually. Services include, but are not limited to routine check-ups, cleanings, fillings, extractions, crowns, bridges, and dentures. Services are offered at East Manatee, Lawton Chiles, Michael Bach, and North County FHC. Children's dental is offered at Lawton Chiles.

Acute Care is designed to administer treatment for individuals whose illnesses or health problems are severe, however, of a short-term or episodic nature. MCRHS Acute Care offers timely medical care, emergency room relief, and reduced costs for indigent health care. Services are offered at East Manatee FHC.

Through the provision of optometry services, patients are able to receive quality eye care. MCRHS skilled optometrists conduct eye examinations and determine the presence of potentially serious health conditions. Everyday, our vision staff improves the sight of our patients, whether it be through the early detection of disease, or simply distributing corrective eye glasses. Services are offered at East Manatee FHC.

Michael Bach Health Center provides care for those living with HIV and AIDS. The treatment facility offers not only free, confidential testing and primary health care for patients, but also medication assistance programs, social services, and counseling. Services are offered at Michael Bach Health Center.

The podiatry department at MCRHS deals with the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases of the feet. Our board certified podiatrists are especially sensitive to the needs of diabetic patients, as the disease is a major part of the practice. Services are offered at North Manatee FHC, Southeast FHC, and North County FHC.

MCRHS highly skilled chiropractic doctors examine the spinal column and the nervous system. Not only is manipulation and specific adjustment of body structures used for pain management, the focus is also on the restoration and maintenance of health. Services are offered at East Manatee FHC, Southeast FHC, and Alpha Therapy.

MCRHS offers quality medications at highly discounted prices. The full services pharmacies enable patients to order prescriptions, and have them filled, while they wait. Pharmacies are located at East Manatee FHC, Lawton Chiles FHC, North Manatee FHC, Southeast FHC, and North County FHC.
